Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Ark you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an Ark account. You represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create. Children cannot create accounts themselves.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of data you provide (family names, chores, schedules, messages). You grant Ark a non-exclusive license to process that data solely to operate the service, including sending it to our AI provider to generate responses.

4. Acceptable use

• Don't attempt to access other households' data.
• Don't use Ark to harass, manipulate, or coerce anyone, including kids in your household.
• Don't try to reverse-engineer the AI or circumvent safety measures.
• Don't use Ark to collect data from children for commercial purposes.

5. AI limitations

Ark's AI features are assistants, not advisors. Responses may be wrong, out of date, or inappropriate. Always verify anything important. Ark is not a substitute for medical, legal, educational, or mental-health professionals.

6. Paid plans

Recurring plans (monthly / yearly): pricing, renewal, and refund terms are disclosed at checkout. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Refunds for mid-cycle cancellations are considered case-by-case.

Founding Family (one-time $99): grants access for the life of the Ark service, with a minimum guaranteed period of 5 years from the date of purchase. We offer a 14-day refund window — email hello@arkfamily.app within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. After 14 days the payment is non-refundable except where required by local law (e.g. UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, Quebec consumer protection law).

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time via /delete-data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms with notice where practical.

8. Disclaimers & liability

Ark is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to Ark is limited to the greater of (a) $100 USD or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including for death, personal injury, or fraud).

9. Governing law

For US users these Terms are governed by the laws of Texas. For UK users, the laws of England and Wales. For Canadian users, the laws of the province where you reside. For Mexican users, the laws of Mexico. Consumer rights under local mandatory law are unaffected.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
